Procedure
- Weigh 20.0 gram of the sample to be tested onto the required sieve (weight b). For milled products (150M,200M,350M and 450M) it is advisable to add about 0.1 g of aluminium oxide to the sample on the sieve to avoid lumping.
- Sieve the sample for 3 minutes using the Hosokawa Alpine Air Jet Sieve operating at 200 mm of water underpressure
- Determine the weight of the residue (weight a)
For each sieve, calculate the percentage undersize as: % underside =100*(b-a)/b
